Testimonials

Dear Susan,
Today is my last day of therapy. While it's a sign of incredible progress, it's also bittersweet. Over the past ten months, your patience, humor and kindness have helped me to overcome a major obstacle, and I love being able to enjoy some of my favorites favorite foods again. Thank you for all of the hours you dedicated to my recovery. I sure will miss seeing you.
Love,
W.C. (74 year old stroke patient with Dysphagia)

(excerpts)

One speech therapist said, “I'm sorry, you will never talk any better.” I'm mystified by that statement. After working with Susan I was able to make public speaking engagements with good performance. She believed in my ability and hers. The results yeah were exemplary.

You have had one of the biggest positive impacts on my life. You were so understanding of me as well. I also had a lot of fun and I hope you did too. I will always help you with anything.
J.M. (32 year old TBI patient)

Dear Susan,
We are so happy that you are back (following a week of vacation). Missing one week of therapy from you is a huge setback for my son. I'm saying that in a good way. What he has gained from you in three months, he did not acquire from his last therapists for almost three years. In every profession there are pros and cons and I am proud to say you are definitely a pro. You are a blessing to him, and I am pretty sure with your other patients also. Keep up the good work, Susan. We need more like you!
Sincerely,
D.R. (Father of 37 year old TBI patient)

Dear Susan,
God bless you… You were the best speech teacher that I had. For one person, you do an awful lot of good. May you be blessed for the kindness you've shown me.
Thanks,
M.S. (82 year old ALS patient)

Susan is very reassuring and helps stop me from getting depressed on days I feel I'm struggling. She helps with building confidence and is great at keeping a positive attitude. Susan has done an excellent job in helping my recovery. She is an extremely positive and caring person. I am very lucky to have her support as she is an excellent therapist.
B.M. (58 year old stroke patient)

My husband suffered a stroke in March 2021. He was diagnosed with Aphasia and Apraxia as a result of said stroke. As you can imagine, we were very distraught by this diagnosis. We were lucky enough to meet Susan Kahn. He began his speech therapy with her in April 2020. We cannot speak highly enough of Susan. She has given him the needed tools to move forward from his stroke by utilizing her professional expertise coupled with her kind demeanor, which helps him to find the confidence to progress and acclimate with his new “post stroke” environment. She continues to set new reachable goals, which is so important so as not to frustrate him. He looks forward to every session he has with Susan. She has become and mentor and a friend to my whole family and she continues to play an integral part in his success and recovery. She is definitely the silver lining to this whole unfortunate circumstance.
Best regards and with much gratitude,
R.H. (wife of 76 year old stroke patient)
